Long Welding Neck (LWN)
Long Welding Necks and nozzles are shaped like a slip on flange with a piece of pipe already attached but are formed and machined in a one-piece construction. They are often used in vessel manufacturing.
This type of flange is seen as more cost effective and advantageous to fabricators over two-piece or built-up methods mainly due to the ease of fabrication, elimination of welds and reduction of material traceability problems.
Long Welding Necks are available in standard configurations and lengths as well as Heavier and Variable barrels. They can be custom manufactured according to your specific requirements or customer supplied drawings.
Long Welding Neck are of seamless forged construction, manufactured with flange dimensions in sizes and pressure classes included in ASME B16.5.
