Flange Types

Threaded Flanges

Of course Threaded flanges are attached by screwing to the threaded ends of pipe. They are sometimes preferred because they can be assembled without welding. They can be used in high pressure services and where any necessary post weld heat treatment is impractical.

Threaded flanges are not suited for applications involving temperature or bending stresses of any magnitude, especially under cyclic conditions, where problems with leaking threads may occur in relatively few cycles of heating or stress.

Threaded flanges are used almost exclusively in smaller pipe sizes and at low pressure.

Tri-Lad manufactures Threaded flanges to the following Specifications.

  • ASME/ANSI B16.5
